I’d like to kick off our series of “how-to” blog posts with a perhaps underappreciated topic: home composting. I have recently taken to noticing how rare the practice still seems to be. I have been to urban homes, suburban homes, rural homes, homes of self proclaimed environmentalists, activists, and conservationists where precious egg shells, onion peels, and half eaten sandwiches go straight into a messy, smelly trash can.
