Germany breaks US solar power record . . .

Wow!

Germany has, despite not exactly being the sunniest place around, managed to break the world record for solar power production.  Solar power is more viable than fossil fuel energy providers want you to think.

  1. “Solar power is more viable than fossil fuel energy providers want you to think.” That’s for sure, but I think it’s starting to come around. I’m happy about Tesla’s new gigafactory that will be powered by solar panels in Nevada and Solar City offering financing to home owners who want to install solar.
I installed a small solar system as a back up to grid power. In the summer time, I have so much excess power that I can run my printing presses from it. I also use solar ovens and a solar hot water system. I’m at about 43˙latitude on the Oregon Coast. Germany is at 52˙ latitude. If they can do it, the US should be able to do it easily.
